Following her recovery from a bacterial infection, Madonna has revealed the new dates for her rescheduled World Tour
The "Celebration Tour," which was initially set to begin in Vancouver, Canada,
has been rescheduled to start in London on October 14, three months later than
its original launch date. The tour, meant to commemorate the 40th anniversary
of Madonna's breakthrough hit "Holiday," marks her return to the stage after
the experimental Madame X shows in 2019 and 2020, some of which were impacted
by injuries and the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite facing setbacks, Madonna's tour plans are now back on track. The
European leg of the tour will proceed as planned after four sold-out
performances at London's O2 Arena. Following these shows, the tour will make
its way to various countries including France, Italy, Denmark, Portugal, and
Germany, with additional London dates in December.
The tour will then cross the Atlantic for concerts in New York and Washington
before a holiday break. Rescheduled dates in the US, Canada, and Mexico will
follow. The logistical challenges of rearranging the tour have led to some
changes, including new venues in certain cities.
Several shows in Tulsa, San Francisco, Phoenix, and Las Vegas have been
canceled, along with a Nashville concert intended to support transgender
rights organizations. Refunds for canceled concerts will be issued at the
original point of purchase. Furthermore, certain shows in New York and Los
Angeles will occur at different venues.
Attendees of the original dates will receive refunds and priority access to
the rescheduled performances. While the exact setlist remains a mystery,
Madonna had previously engaged with fans on social media, asking for their
song preferences for the upcoming shows. Despite the challenges and delays,
Madonna is eager to hit the stage once again, continuing her legacy as a pop
icon.
